Best Parks To Grill In Orange County

A cookout is always a great way to spend the day. Good food and good people make for a memorable experience. Here are some of the best areas available in Orange County. All are dog-friendly and have plenty of shade trees. Whether you are looking for a quaint setting in which to spend a few hours, or for a larger area with nearly unlimited activities, there is something for everyone.

Maple Grove Park

The quiet city of Cypress is nestled between Garden Grove and Buena Park. The city is also home to some great BBQ spots. Located on Orangewood, just south of Valley View, are twin locations which feature outdoor grills, basketball courts, a great kids play area and picnic tables. Maple Grove North Park and Maple Grove South Park are both located on Orangewood, directly across the street from one another. The parks are well kept, well manicured and seldom overcrowded. This is for a more low-key grilling day, as the only activities are the shaded picnic areas and play areas. If just grilling and enjoying the well kept park area in a nice, quiet setting is what you are looking for, you need look no further.

Located on 607 acres in Fountain Valley, Mile Square Park has a lot to offer. A golf course, baseball diamonds, soccer fields, archery and plenty of paths for biking, walking and rollerblading. This is a preferred destination, but space is so plentiful and parking so convenient that you will not feel crowded. There are plenty of BBQ grills and picnic areas, so load up on food, invite some friends, grab the kids and come on out. Don't forget to bring the Frisbees, footballs and whatever recreational equipment you may have, because it is going to be a great day. Before you know it, the sun will be setting. Time flies when you are having fun.

Located on 475 acres, Irvine Regional Park has all the makings of a great day out. Picnic and BBQ areas are plentiful, but that is just the beginning. Patrons also have the option of biking, rollerblading and paddle boating. If you happen to own a horse, you can take advantage of the three-mile equestrian trail. There are also train rides and volleyball courts available. It is easy to spend an entire day just sampling all the park has to offer. There are really too many activities to list. Come out early, stake out your BBQ grill and enjoy a great summer day. There are even children's pony rides available year round.

Located in south Orange County, Laguna Niguel Regional Park is a terrific place to spend the day. A great day of outdoor cooking on one of the many BBQ grills, is just the beginning. There is a play area for kids, bike trails, hiking trails, fishing, a radio-controlled glider area and much more. It is also easy to fall in love with the beautiful scenic vistas as well. For many in Orange County, this may be a bit of a drive, but is well worth the trip. It is in a park like this, that lasting memories are created. This is an absolutely marvelous setting.

If grilling is your main ambition, this is a great location. Yorba Regional Park sits on 140 acres and boasts 200 BBQ grills and over 400 picnic tables. Although there are other activities available, such as fishing, bike riding, horseshoes and volleyball courts, the main attraction is the abundance of grills. This is a very pleasant setting. If bike riding is your thing, the bike trails connect to Santa Ana River Trails, which ultimately lead some 20 miles to the ocean. If you overeat, jump on the bike and work off those excess calories.
