Detectives believe Yousef was targeted because he and another person he was with at the time of the crime worked at a check cashing business, police said. The three suspects brandished weapons and demanded money, but no money was taken.

Police later released surveillance video and sought help to solve the crime.

All three suspects will be charged with homicide, and the case has been turned over to the Orange County District Attorney’s office for prosecution, police said.
