Garden Grove Man Arrested In Connection With Fatal Stabbing

GARDEN GROVE (CBSLA.com) — Police Monday announced the arrest of a 20-year-old man in connection with a fatal stabbing that took place in Garden Grove.

According to the Garden Grove Police Department, officers were sent around 10:57 p.m. on May 19 to the area of Avalon and Fairview avenues for report of a stabbing that had just occurred.

Upon their arrival, officers located a Hispanic man suffering from apparent stab wounds on the street.

The victim was transported to UCI Medical Center where he later died. Authorities identified him as Bryan Ortega, 19, of Garden Grove.

Around 3:50 p.m. on May 22, forensic evidence led officers to subsequently arrest Troy David Son, of Garden Grove.

The motive for the murder remains unknown at this time.

Police said there is no direct relationship between Ortega and Son.

The murder weapon has not been recovered.

Son is expected to appear in court on June 19.
