OC Mom Sentenced To Time Served For Molesting Son's Hockey Teammate, 13

SANTA ANA (CBSLA.com) — An Orange County woman who pleaded guilty to sexually molesting her son's 13-year-old friend in her Laguna Niguel home was sentenced Tuesday.

Kathia Davis, 46, was sentenced to 16 months in prison, followed by three years of parole. She will also be required to register as a sex offender.

Davis was convicted in a previous trial of sexually abusing a then-16-year-old boy who played hockey with her son in the summers of 2010 and 2011. In that case, she was convicted of four felony counts of unlawful sexual intercourse and two misdemeanor counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Another teammate of Davis' son came forward about a 2005 incident after seeing news reports about Davis and the 16-year-old.

According to testimonies, Davis had given the then 13-year-old victim and her son alcohol after she caught them sneaking some.

She then allegedly began massaging and kissing the victim before molesting him on the couch while her son and daughter were sleeping on another couch in the room. The victim said Davis also tried to perform oral sex on him, but he said he felt ashamed and rejected her.

The boy said he then told an older sister about the incident who told their mom. Their mother confronted Davis at the hockey rink, eliciting an apology from Davis, according to prosecutors.

Deputy District Attorney Jennifer Walker said Davis was given credit for time served locally and "only has about another week left" before she is released from Orange County jail.

"I'm just very happy that the defendant finally chose to take responsibility for her actions with the first victim in time," said Walker.
