Autopsy On Sage Stallone Completed; Results Pending

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — An autopsy was conducted Sunday morning on the body of Sage Stallone, two days after the 36-year-old was found dead.

Lt. Cheryl MacWillie with the Los Angeles County coroner's office confirmed to CBS2 that the autopsy was completed but said results were pending a toxicology report.

On Friday afternoon, a housekeeper found the younger Stallone, son of actor Sylvester Stallone, dead his Hollywood Hills home.

Coroner's officials say some prescription pills were taken from his home but have not specified which ones or how many.

Investigators say family members hadn't heard from Sage in several days so they sent someone to check on him.

Celebrity website TMZ.com is reporting that Sage might have been dead for several days, possibly as long as a week, and had two drawers filled with pill bottles. The coroner could not confirm those reports.

The elder Stallone is, "devastated and grief-stricken over the sudden loss of his son," a representative said Friday.

Stallone appeared alongside his dad in "Rocky V" and "Daylight." In his later years, the younger Stallone worked behind the scenes as a writer, producer and director of many short films. He also owned a video-releasing company.

Toxicology tests could take several weeks to months to complete, MacWillie added.
