Although September has rolled around, here in our sunny City of Angels, it's still warm. Actually, it's been super hot! L.A.'s restaurant specials and food menus are just as hot. Sister restaurant to Mo-Chica, over in Marina Del Rey is Paiche. It's a seafood-centric Peruvian establishment that offers two different "Omakase" or "Trust the Chef" lunch specials. OMAKASE 1: $19 per person for four courses (two appetizers, one entree, one dessert). OMAKASE 2: $29 per person for five courses (two appetizers, one selection from the grill, one entree, one dessert).

Known for their delicious sweets and flans that are fan favorites at local farmer's markets, Crème Caramel has found a permanent home in Sherman Oaks. Their Grand Opening is on Monday, Sept. 9. You can also find other artisanal and locally-owned treats inside their café such as bento boxes, high tea sandwiches and something called "Unicorn Poop" (sweet, light, fluffy meringue dusted in sugar).

To celebrate Mexico's 203rd Independence Day, Tortilla Republic has a special of $2.03 tacos. On Sept. 16 and 17, for only $20.03, they are also offering a two-course prix-fixe dinner. They are also hosting a Don Julio Tequila 101 tasting with tapas pairing on Sept. 21.

Willie Jane in Venice brings "garden to glass," to life. Bar Manager Derrick Bass creates craft cocktails such as the Floral, which contains rosemary and thyme (two powerful detoxifying agents) and the Coal Miner's Daughter that mixes thyme and macerated ginger (containing anti-inflammatory properties). His seasonally revolving cocktail program complements the restaurant and Executive Chef Govind Armstrong's overall ethos to incorporate fresh California ingredients into every Southern-inspired dish. This Japanese sushi bar and restaurant in Santa Monica now has a new business lunch special. Two courses for just $25 and it also comes with an order of soup. This changes daily and ranges from selections like the Pork in Puff Pastry, Petite Filet Mignon and Grouper. It's a gourmet culinary lunch at a wallet-friendly price.

For example, we are sourcing fresh, bright basil and greens from Kenter Canyon Farms, ripe heirloom tomatoes from Country Fresh Herbs, and sweet Cavaillon melon from Weiser Family Farms.
