Just when you thought it was time to work on your summer shape, we have a list of all the soft serve spots you need to visit. These places have some of the best soft serve in the city.
CVT Soft Serve
CVT’s truck travels around town, delivering its unique version of true East coast soft serve to the masses. Why? Because according to them, “frozen yogurt sucks”. Offering chocolate, vanilla and twist (a mix of the two), you’ll also have your choice of toppings. Cups or cake cones come naked or with your choice of chocolate sprinkles, rainbow sprinkles or sea salt for a few cents more. You can also snag a Coffee Cream–soft serve and Stumptown brew in one cup. Follow the trail on social media to find out where they’ll be next, or go big, and book them for a private event.
Manhattan Beach Post
1142 Manhattan Avenue
Manhattan Beach, CA 90266
Known for their delicious breakfast and brunch food, MB Post also offers a tasty dessert menu featuring a rotation of soft serve and toppings that have made the restaurant a must-visit. From Sesame Seed, Coffee and Butter Pecan to Coconut and Spicy Cinnamon, previous offerings have run the gamut of interesting flavors. Right now, you can order Horchata soft serve with rice pudding and cinnamon caramel, but have no doubt, a new soft serve flavor is on the way.
3377 Wilshire Blvd Suite 116
Los Angeles, CA 90010
With endearing menu items like the Darling, Dear, Sweetie, and of course, Honeymee, this LA soft serve spot is known for a ton of buzzworthy treats. The namesake dessert is vanilla soft serve with a glistening honeycomb on top, and you can also get your order with chocolate sauce and sea salt, liquid honey swirls, or plain if you like. You can even order it in a sweet bun. With three shops across L.A. and three more on the way, you’ll be able to get your fix no matter where you are around town.
5144 East Beverly Boulevard
Los Angeles, CA 90022
An East LA favorite, Bob’s Freeze has been open for nearly 70 years serving generation after generation with tasty soft serve ice cream. One catch: they keep it real by only serving vanilla. To vary it up, you can get it in old school cake cone, flip and dip in chocolate, or blend up a shake. They also offer a Suicide Float with several flavors of slushies over soft serve.
Sweet Rose Creamery
826 Pico Boulevard
Santa Monica, CA
Known for their homemade ice cream, Sweet Rose Creamery is without a doubt a great place to go if you want to sample a myriad of flavors. But, with the recent addition of soft serve to the Pico Sweet Rose Creamery location, it means you can sample even more creative flavors than before. On the menu now are featured combinations like Kyoho Grape & Peanut Butter, Passion Fruit with Chocolate, Tangerine, Honey Milk, Strawberry and Sour Cream. Make sure to visit the website or call ahead of time to find out what types of interesting flavors they’re cooking up for the day!
King Kone Ice Cream Company
Another soft serve truck dishing up treats at various locations around Los Angeles daily, King Kone Ice Cream Company offers their flavors in cones and cups or as a shake or float. When you track down the ice cream dessert delivery truck, choose from flavors like vanilla, chocolate, or twist for a sundae with piles of toppings. Want more? Try a cookie sandwich, or a dipped cone. You can even go halfsies with an Avalanche–soft serve topped with shaved ice. Follow King Kone on social media for upcoming locations, or book them for a private event.
319 South Arroyo Parkway
Pasadena, CA 91105
Pasadena’s KindKreme’s plant-based soft serve is for the dairy-free crowd, but it’s also good enough to appeal to anyone. Offered here is chocolate and coconut, and you can also go for an old-school scoop with toppings or try a banana split, waffle sandwich, brownie sundae or Kombucha float. They also use Babycakes vegan cookies for soft serve sandwiches.
