The daiquiri is a mixed cocktail created with rum, citrus juice and sugar. Historically, the daiquiri was a favorite of American novelist Ernest Hemingway, and today many bars pay tribute to the writer by naming their versions after him. Bartenders agree that the daiquiri is best hand-shaken using granulated sugar over simple syrup. With summer around the corner, a daiquiri is a perfect cocktail to order for its bright and refreshing taste and quenching finish. Los Angeles bars and lounges are bringing back this classic alcoholic beverage to patrons poolside, by the beach and in the lounge.
