Carousel Restaurant is a Middle Eastern experience from the moment you walk through the door. Once inside, you 'll be enchanted by the live entertainment and cuisine of Carousel. The mezas, or appetizers, are the true stars of the menu. They are abundant, flavorful and large enough to share with the table. The kebabs are thick, perfectly cooked and come in the traditional choices of beef, chicken and fish. Vegetarians aren 't left out here either, as there is a large selection to choose from.

Marouch Restaurant is one of those restaurants that genuinely welcomes the larger dinner parties. There's even a meza on the menu for six. Prices can be a little up there, but for authentic Lebanese/Armenian food that is rated some of the best in the city, you can 't complain. Vegetarian options are quite enticing and Marouch is well known for their hummus and fresh ingredients. Bring your own bottles of wine and cake for celebrations, but keep in mind there is a cork and cake cutting fee.

Joe's Falafel is on the small side, but the portions are big. Handmade lafa bread, freshly baked pitas and fresh ingredients make Joe's Falafel some of the best Mediterranean cuisine. Best known for their falafel, the Greek salad, lemon chicken and chicken shawarma are also pretty great. Everything is perfectly seasoned for true Mediterranean flavor. There's a small parking lot, but there's plenty of street parking, so bring quarters.

It seems a lot of good stuff is on Melrose, and Ta-eem Grill happens to be one them. The entire Mediterranean menu is kosher and the servings are generous. The steak kebab plate, the combo plate (chicken shawarma, mergez and kofta kebab), shawarma laffa and shawarma burrito lunch special are all among the customer favorites. There is a cute patio, but it fills quickly. Fortunately, there is also a large dining room. Lines tend to get long, but service is speedy.
