A Noise Within's 25th Anniversary Season is in full-swing, as they open the second production of the season this week with The Maids. Solange and Claire are two housemaids who get a bit out of control with their roleplaying. While their mistress, Madame, is away, the two act out the murder of Madame, taking turns portraying both sides of the power divide. Loosely based on the 1933 brutal murder of an employer and her daughter, Jean Ganet's play was revolutionary when it was first produced in 1947, and remains powerful today. Tonight's engagement of The Maids includes a symposium at 6pm. It will be given by playwright, and CSUN Assistant Professor of Theatre, Hillary Miller.
