If someone asks you to describe what a hipster is, you might have a difficult time giving any answer other than "I know one when I see one" - especially when you see a mustachioed man with a scarf around his neck and a pack of American Spirit Lights in his shirt pocket. Regardless of how a hipster looks, he or she is someone that follows the latest trends in a variety of things including cocktails. If you're on the lookout for a great hipster bar, here are the best that Orange County has to offer.

Downtown Santa Ana has experienced a real revitalization thanks in part to the Artists Village and places like Chapter One: The Modern Local. Chapter One has several reasons for being the popular spot that it is. It has a vast array of signature cocktails, including a number of variations of one of the most popular cocktails around right now: the Moscow Mule. You'll also find a variety of craft beers that include a large selection of local brews. The menu includes variations on favorite comfort foods like fries cooked in duck fat and macaroni and cheese that could easily become a favorite.

The Crow Bar has a tremendous selection of craft beers both on tap and in the bottle - including Mikkeller, which is not easy to find in bars. A glance at the menu shows a lot of old favorites as well as a new favorite for a lot of places: pork belly.

Kitsch Bar has a DJ every Saturday playing a mix of music that includes indie rock as well as hip-hop and pop. Kitsch Bar does more than that to prove that it is a hip place to be. Every Wednesday, new artisan cocktails are mixed with fresh produce. Kitsch also has a trivia night every Tuesday at 9:30pm where you can test your knowledge either by yourself or with up to three teammates.

If you're looking for some variation on a martini, The Boulevard is the place to go. Here you'll find a Blood Orange Cosmo as well as a Maverick - made with gin, agave nectar, cucumber and lime juice. The Boulevard also has a good selection of draft beers that includes a lot of beers brewed here in Southern California as well as the hipster favorite Pabst Blue Ribbon.

Downtown Santa Ana has become a haven for hipsters, and hipsters find their way to The Copper Door. In addition to 28 rotating beer taps (one of which is Pabst Blue Ribbon), this place also has an array of entertainment options from a DJ to a weekly songwriter showcase and a regular burlesque show. The Copper Door also has the added cool factor of being a basement bar.
