SIMI VALLEY (CBSLA) — One person was killed Monday in a house fire in Simi Valley.

According to the Ventura County Fire Department, the blaze broke out at a home in the 900 block of Talbert Avenue.

Cell phone video captured the blaze before fire crews were able to put it out.

It was not immediately clear how the fire started, though it did not appear that the blaze spread to nearby homes.

The identity of the person killed was not immediately known. Five other people were displaced.
