Crews Battle Large Fire Outside Of El Monte Warehouse
EL MONTE (CBSLA) - Fire crews battled a large fire outside of a warehouse in El Monte Thursday afternoon.
The fire reportedly started outside and spread to a 100 ft. by 50 ft. warehouse located at 4601 Arden Drive.
LA County Fire first arrived on the scene, to what began as a context fire.
Plastic materials burned outside creating huge plumes of black smoke.
The fire quickly jumped up to a second-alarm as firefighters needed extra help containing the flames.
Fire crews were able to save two building with reported small amounts of damage to one of them
There were no injuries to any people on the ground or inside of the buildings.
As of Thursday at 4 p.m., the fire was in a mop-up stage, with small hot spots still active.
Arden Drive was closed for multiple blocks while fire crews gathered their equipment.
