Guide to the 2019 CES Conference

Business leaders, tech giants, startups and a wide array of companies from around the globe are some of the notable attendees who will gather to announce, introduce and learn more about the latest tech trends and innovations at the 2019 CES conference. The world-renowned event has been unveiling exciting, cutting-edge consumer tech products for over four decades. What is CES?

Managed, owned, and produced by the Consumer Technology Association, CES gathers innovators, business leaders, pioneers, analysts, manufacturers, suppliers and more from around the globe to form and expand business relationships and introduce cutting-edge tech products and solutions. CES has served as a launching pad for all sorts of electronic/tech items since the first conference in 1978.

Innovative products that debuted at CES include the first VHS VCR in 1975, Digital Satellite Systems (DSS) receiver in 1994, the HDTV DVD player in 2000, and more. More than 180,000 attendees from more than 155 countries visit CES each year. Information is shared, new tech is demonstrated and displayed, and attendees network and draw inspiration from thousands of industry peers, business partners and pioneering thinkers.

CES 2019 Dates and Location

The 2019 CES conference takes place across 11 venues and more than 2.75 million net square feet of exhibit space in Las Vegas, Nevada. Venues are divided into three geographic sectors: Tech East, Tech West, and Tech South. It starts on Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2019, and runs through Friday, Jan. 11. CES 2019 boasts more than 4,500 exhibiting companies which represent 24 product categories and more than 20 marketplaces. Product categories include 3D Printing, Drones, Family and Kid Tech, Home Cinema, AI and Robotics, IoT Infrastructure, Sports Tech, Tourism and many more. Key Note Speakers, Topics and More

All sorts of exciting conference speaking sessions will be held (more than 250 in all) at CES. CTA President and CEO Gary Shapiro and CES Executive Vice President Karen Chupka will give an informative State of the Industry address on Tuesday, Jan. 8 at 8:30 a.m. local time at the Venetian Palazzo Ballroom. They’ll discuss emerging technology and innovations being displayed at 2019 CES (such as 5G, smart cities, and health tech). They’ll also explore the future of the industry.

Other notable keynote speakers include LG Electronics President and Chief Technology Officer Dr. I.P. Park speaking on artificial intelligence (AI); IBM Chairman, President and CEO Ginni Rometty discussing how AI and quantum will make a positive impact in multiple areas of business; and industry and Verizon CEO Hans Vestberg will talk about 5G will make a positive impact around the world.
