Henrique's OT Goal Lifts Ducks To 4-3 Victory Over Sabres

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — Adam Henrique scored 1:36 into overtime and the Anaheim Ducks snapped a three-game skid with a 4-3 win over the Buffalo Sabres on Tuesday night.

The Ducks rebounded in the extra period after allowing the Sabres to tie the game on Ryan O'Reilly's goal with 15 seconds remaining in regulation.

Corey Perry, Rickard Rakell and Ondrej Kase also scored for the Ducks, who ended an 0-2-1 slide. Ryan Miller stopped 30 shots in facing his former team for the fourth time since the Sabres traded him to St. Louis during the 2013-14 season.

Jack Eichel and Zemgus Girgensons scored for the Sabres, who squandered two one-goal leads. They are 0-3-1 in their past four games and dropped to 4-9-2 since Jan. 1. Robin Lehner stopped 29 shots and fell to 2-2-1 in his past five games despite allowing just seven goals.

Lehner had no chance on either of the final two goals he gave up.

Henrique's shot from just inside the blue line deflected in off the stick of Sabres defenseman Rasmus Ristolainen and sailed in over Lehner's right shoulder.

The Ducks went ahead 3-2 with 8:30 left in regulation when Perry was credited with a goal that O'Reilly inadvertently scored into this own net when the Sabres forward's clearing attempt hit Lehner's stick and caromed in.

At 14-29-10, the Sabres sit last in the Eastern Conference standings. Their home record dropped to 6-15-4 — they began the day tied with Arizona for the fewest home wins in the NHL.

The Ducks closed a five-game road trip and were playing on consecutive nights following a 7-4 loss at Toronto.

Girgensons opened the scoring with his second short-handed goal in three games by banking in his own rebound off Miller's pad 3:22 in. Eichel put Buffalo ahead 2-1 with 2:12 left in the second period by converting Sam Reinhart's feed through the crease.

Rakell put the Ducks on the board with a power-play goal 21 seconds into the second period, when his shot hit the right post and then caromed in off Lehner. Kase tied the game 1:57 after Eichel scored by poking the puck through Lehner's legs after the goalie stopped Josh Manson's shot from the right point.

Miller is on his third team since spending his first 10-plus NHL seasons with the Sabres. He was 2-1 against the Sabres, all with Vancouver, including a 3-2 loss in Miller's only previous start as a visitor in Buffalo.

NOTES: Ducks starting goalie John Gibson missed his fourth straight game with a lower-body injury, but did take part in the team's optional pregame skate. ... Eichel's goal was his 50th point of the season. He joined Gilbert Perreault, Rick Martin, Phil Housley and Christian Ruuttu in becoming the fifth Sabres player to score at least 50 points in each of their first three seasons. ... With an assist on Rakell's goal, Getzlaf reached 300 career power-play points. Only Teemu Selanne (410) has more in Ducks history. ... Sabres D Jake McCabe played only one shift in the second period before leaving the game. He appeared to be hurt late in the first following a collision with Getzlaf.
