2 Dead, 1 Seriously Wounded In Shooting At Long Beach Law Office

LONG BEACH (CBSLA) — Authorities said two people are dead in a shooting at a law office in Long Beach.

Officers were dispatched to the 300 block of San Antonio Drive just before 2:30 p.m.

On arrival, officers confirmed a shooting had taken place with multiple victims.

Sky9's Stu Mundel reported that two were dead, a victim and the suspect.

One shooting victim was driven to a nearby hospital. That person was reported to be in serious condition, according to CBS2's Peter Daut.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing. More than a dozen officers were still on scene hours after the shooting.

Police Thursday afternoon said the man suspected in the shooting was an attorney who had been terminated by a law firm with offices in the building. It is believed the suspect shot a partner in the firm, another employee and then shot himself.

The building houses several legal firms including that of well-known accident attorneys Larry H. Parker and Ron Beck.

Officials said the suspect used a handgun.

Moments before the shooting, terrified co-workers ran into the street.

Daut spoke to a man named Kelly Bray, who lives near the building where the shooting occurred.

"It's frightening," he said. "It's absolutely frightening. This is a quiet neighborhood. I've lived here 17 years. This doesn't really ever  happen around here."
