SANTA CLARITA (CBSLA.com) —    Investigators are probing the stabbing death of a woman in Santa Clarita Saturday evening.

The stabbing happened just before 6 p.m. in the 18700 block of Vista Del Canon.

The victim, who sustained at least one stab wound, was pronounced dead at the scene by LA County Fire.

The LA County Santa Clarita Sherrif’s Station received a call, at approximately 5:46 p.m., from a female adult who was located in the Burbank area. She said she was in the presence of her daughter’s live-in girlfriend, the suspect.

The daughter’s live-in girlfriend told her that she was involved in a verbal altercation with the victim at their residence in Santa Clarita. During the course of the verbal altercation she said she assaulted the victim.

Authorities said the live-in girlfriend has been detained and is being questioned.

The investigation is on going.
