Woman Fatally Stabbed In Riverside Following Alleged Domestic Violence Incident

RIVERSIDE (CBSLA.com)   –   Authorities responding to a call about domestic violence Sunday found a man and a woman suffering from stab wounds.

The Riverside Police were dispatched to a home in the 1100 block of North Orange Street just after 4:35 p.m.

Officers arrived at the residence to find a male and a female lying on the floor suffering from stab wounds. Both subjects were transported to a local hospital for treatment, officials said.

The female succumbed to her injuries. The male subject was treated for non-life threatening stab wounds.

Police said a preliminary investigation determined the female victim and the male suspect were involved in a domestic dispute and the male suspect stabbed the female victim multiple times.

The male suspect was later arrested. It was not revealed if his wounds were self-inflicted.

Detectives from the Police Department's Robbery-Homicide Unit along with Evidence Technicians from the Forensics Unit responded to the scene to take over the investigation.

.Detectives are being assisted by the Riverside County District Attorney's Office and the Riverside County Sheriff- Coroner's Office.
