Funny Or Die Cuts Jobs, Closes San Mateo Office: Report
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Digital comedy studio Funny Or Die has reportedly cut 30 percent of its work force and shut down one of its offices in Northern California.
Nearly 40 employees across three offices San Mateo, Los Angeles and New York saw job cuts, Variety reported.
Funny Or Die's San Mateo office focused heavily on app development, "an area of the company where they have since retrenched", according to Variety.
Founded by Will Ferrell, director Adam McKay and producer Chris Henchy, Funny Or Die launched about a decade ago and quickly became a popular comedic content source for its viral videos featuring Ferrell and other comedy A-listers.
