'Pokemon Go' Players Now Have Chance To Earn Cash If They Lose Weight

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Players of the vastly popular "Pokemon Go" app now have a chance to win big and lose weight in the process.

Healthy Wage, a weight loss wagering company, has come up with a fitness challenge.

The Summertime Stepping contest will pay people who walk the most and also lose the most weight.

It will cost contestants $30 to join and their steps will be measured through a fitness tracker.

Everyone who increases their steps by 20 percent or more gets to split the pot.

The company will take 25 percent for administration fees.

The contest starts Aug. 1 and runs through Aug. 30.
