2 Killed, 1 Injured In Multi-Vehicle Crash On WB 10 Freeway In West Covina

WEST COVINA (CBSLA.com) — A multi-vehicle collision has claimed the lives of two people and injured another person, police said Friday.

According to California Highway Patrol officers, the crash unfolded shortly after 1:00 a.m. along the westbound 10 Freeway between Citrus and Barranca avenues.

Officers said one of five vehicles was weaving in and out of traffic before the crash occurred.

Upon their arrival, paramedics transported one person to Los Angeles County USC-Medical Center for treatment of unknown injuries.

Two other people were pronounced dead at the scene. One of the victim's was 90-years-old, according to police.

The identities of the victims are being withheld pending family notification.

The crash subsequently shut down all westbound lanes of the freeway at Barranca Avenue.

The SigAlert was cleared by 5:30 a.m., police said.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
