LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The Los Angeles Lakers have fired Head Coach Byron Scott, league sources say.

Scott is coming off a 17-65 season.

There is no word on who the Lakers are looking at to replace Scott.

“We would like to thank Byron for his hard work, dedication and loyalty over the last two years, but have decided it is in the best interest of the organization to make a change at this time,” said General Manager Mitch Kupchak.

The Wizards replaced Randy Wittman with Scott Brooks and the Timberwolves replaced Sam Mitchell with Tom Thibodeau, two names the Lakers were rumored to be considering to replace Scott.
