LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — President Barack Obama will be leaving the southland Friday after a quick jaunt West.
The president attended a Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee event Thursday, and planned to stay in Southern California overnight, according to the White House.
On Friday, Obama will attend a Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee event. He is scheduled to travel on to San Francisco after leaving Los Angeles.
According to Variety, Thursday night’s fundraiser will be at the Bel-Air home of Walt Disney Studios chairman Alan Horn and his wife Cindy, an environmental activist. Tickets for the event reportedly started at $15,000 per couple and included a photo opportunity and dinner. Other tickets went allegedly as high as $66,800 per couple, including a VIP reception.
On Friday morning, Obama is scheduled to attend a breakfast fundraiser at the home of actor Tobey Maguire and his wife Jennifer, according to Variety. Tickets to this event cost $33,400 per couple.
The president was just in Southern California in February, attending fundraisers and appearing on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.” Those fundraisers were his 38th and 39th LA County fundraisers as president. Fundraising events have dominated Obama’s visits to Southern California, with 21 of his 24 presidential visits to Los Angeles and Orange counties including at least one fundraiser.
