LA MIRADA (CBSLA.com) — An In-N-Out Burger employee found dead outside the La Mirada restaurant where she worked for two decades didn’t die of a gunshot wound, but was fatally beaten, authorities said Wednesday.
Josefina Alcocer was found dead at 4:45 a.m. Friday in the parking lot of the restaurant, at 14341 Firestone Blvd. She was wearing her In-N-Out uniform, according to the sheriff’s department.READ MORE: Man Shot, Killed Outside Hacienda Heights Gas Station
The preliminary investigation reported that the 48-year-old woman had been shot, but an autopsy later determined that was not the case, coroner’s Assistant Chief Ed Winter said. Alcocer had worked for In-N-Out since 1996 and was one of the original employees at the La Mirada restaurant, the company said in a statement.
