LOS ANGELES (AP) — Los Angeles County sheriff’s officials say a military-grade ordnance discovered buried behind a Topanga Canyon home appears to be inert.

The 30-inch device was found by landscape workers digging in the backyard on Saturday.

A sheriff’s explosives team responded and took possession of the device after rendering it safe.

Officials say nobody was hurt and the device appeared to be inert.
