6 Kittens Rescued From Burning Camper In Corona

CORONA (CBSLA.com) — Firefighters rescued a batch of kittens Wednesday from a Corona blaze that left at least one person with minor injuries.

The fire was reported just before 9 a.m. in the 1200 block of E Street, near Sherman Avenue, Corona Fire Department officials said. Crews arrived to find a camper shell burning in a vacant lot, threatening nearby homes.

A bystander suffered minor burn injuries to his hands and was taken to a hospital for treatment, according to fire officials.

The fire was quickly contained, and crews discovered six kittens on the property. The apparently uninjured kittens were turned over to Corona Animal Control.

It's not known when, or if, the kittens would be made available for adoption. The whereabouts of the kittens' mother were unknown.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
