Clippers Team Up With Salvation Army For 'Feed The Community' Event

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The Los Angeles Clippers are teaming up with the Salvation Army in South Central to provide at least 1,200 needy families with boxes of food and other essential personal care items.

The event will take place on Saturday, Oct. 24th, at 1:30 pm at the Salvation Army Seimon Family Youth and Community Center.

Clippers stars DeAndre Jordan, Paul Pierce, and Jamal Crawford will be in attendance, along with the local volunteers and personnel from the U.S. Army, U.S. Air Force, and U.S. Coast Guard at the annual "Feed the Community" event.

Other Clippers players like Austin Rivers, Josh Smith, C.J. Wilcox, Branden Dawson, Chuck Hayes, and Luc Richard Mbah a Moute will also join the staff members and volunteers at the event.

The"Feed the Community" event is a longstanding tradition of the Clippers Foundation, which aims to provide needed help for families in need around Los Angeles.

The Salvation Army is located on 7651 South Central Ave, Los Angeles, CA, 90001.

The event is open only to families who have pre-registered with The Salvation Army Siemon Family Youth & Community Center.
