LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — An actor best known for his role on the TV show “Full House” has been charged with driving under the influence in Beverly Hills, authorities said Thursday.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, John Phillip Stamos, 52, faces one misdemeanor count of driving while under the influence of drugs.

On June 12, Stamos was arrested near Canon Drive and Brighton Way after concerned citizens reported he was allegedly behaving strangely and driving erratically, according to prosecutors.

If convicted as charged, he faces a possible maximum sentence of six months in county jail.

Stamos is scheduled to appear in court at 8:30 a.m. on Friday.
