Businessman Who Appeared On 'Millionaire Matchmaker' Charged In Sexual Assaults

VAN NUYS (CBSLA.com) — A man who appeared on "Millionaire Matchmaker," a reality television show, in 2011 was charged Thursday with sexually assaulting three women.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office said businessman Michael Leslie Bernback, 62, of Sherman Oaks is scheduled to be arraigned Sept. 28 on eight felony counts, including one count each of forcible rape, rape by use of drugs, rape of an unconscious person, forcible oral copulation, sexual penetration by a foreign object and attempted sodomy by use of force, and two counts of administering a drug to commit rape.

He is also charged with three misdemeanor counts of possession of drugs, including cocaine and Ecstasy.

Bernback gave a drug to one woman and tied and bound another woman during one attack, allege prosecutors, who said crimes occurred in March 2014, September 2014 and this Aug. 11.

He was arrested Aug. 13 and released on $300,000 bail. He was taken into custodyThursday after his bail was increased to $2.1 million, the District Attorney's Office said.

He could face a maximum sentence of multiple life terms in state prison if convicted, the District Attorney's Office said.
