Deputies Arrests Ex-Boyfriend Of Monrovia Woman Found Dead In Her Car

MONROVIA (CBSLA.com) Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department detectives on Thursday arrested a man in connection with the death of a 31-year-old Monrovia woman whose body was found in her car in June, authorities said. The man is the former boyfriend of the victim.

At 8:30 a.m., detectives arrested 45-year-old Jose Roberto Turner on suspicion of murdering Lajoya McCoy. Turner is being held with no bail, the Sheriff's Department said.

The case opened in June, after the sudden disappearance and death of McCoy, who was discovered in her vehicle on Cypress Avenue, about a mile from her home on West Olive Avenue. She had been missing for a week.

McCoy was the mother of two young children and ran a clothing boutique in Monterrey Park.
