Studio City Drone Store Burglarized A Second Time In 2 Months

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — More than $15,000 in merchandise was taken in a burglary from a Studio City drone store, the second time the retailer has been hit by burglars in as many months.

The owner of Drones Plus, at 11376 Ventura Blvd., says as many as five burglars were caught on video at about 2 a.m. Wednesday, breaking into the store and quickly stealing over $15,000 in merchandise.

Drones Plus is North America's largest drone retailer, owner Mike Thorpe said.

The video shows five burglars, at least one of whom is a woman, dressed in mostly white, running into the store and breaking cabinets and leaving the store with boxes of merchandise. The burglars clear out in less than a minute and a half.

The store was also broken into on July 19, when the burglars got away with $10,000 in merchandise.
