Huntington Beach Home Invasion Robbery Suspects Sought

HUNTINGTON BEACH (CBSLA.com) — Police are searching for two men and a woman suspected of sneaking into a Huntington Beach home and threatening the residents with guns.

The home invasion robbery happened in a home at Coralwood Lane and Crescent Drive at about 9:30 a.m., police said.

The initial investigation found that a woman came to the door and solicited the homeowners, police said. As the woman who answered the door went upstairs to get her fiancé, two gunmen made it inside the home.

When the homeowner saw the suspects in the dining room, he ran outside and to his neighbors to get help.

The suspects demanded cash from the relatives who were still inside the home. When the residents said they didn't have any cash, the three suspects fled. They got inside a white 2002 Malibu that was parked one block away.

"A female with dark skin knocked on the door, and a female resident inside answered the door," HBPD's Jennifer Marlatt said. "At that time, two black males, armed with handguns, came inside the residence and demanded money."

The two women, two men and one child in the home were not injured, Huntington Beach police spokeswoman Jennifer Marlatt said.

Police retrieved security camera video from the home and are examining it.

"They turned the corner and got into the white vehicle, stopped in the turning lane on Magnolia, and then they just drove away," witness Alan Schideler said.

A 2002 white Chevrolet Malibu sedan was seen earlier, driving up and down the neighborhood, so investigators are checking on its plate, Marlatt said.

The two male suspects appeared to be in their early 30s, Marlatt said. One wore a gray T-shirt, black pants and a black beanie, while the female suspect wore a white T-shirt and black shorts, she said.

One victim told CBS2/KCAL9's Michele Gile that a similar incident happened a couple of weeks ago – a woman matching the description from Tuesday's home invasion tried to get inside a home, saying she was with the cable company.
