Man Convicted Of Murder In Deadly Halloween Shooting
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A man who fatally shot a 5-year-old boy wearing a Spider-Man costume in South Los Angeles in 2010 has been convicted of murder.
Leonard Hall Jr., 26, was also convicted of two counts of attempted murder for wounding the boy's grandfather and uncle during the shooting on Oct. 31, 2010 in Compton.
Two previous trials of Hall ended with deadlocked juries.
Prosecutors say Hall and an accomplice entered an alley in a rival gang's territory on Halloween in 2010 and opened fire.
The boy, Aaron Shannon Jr., was shot in the head. His grandfather and uncle were wounded.
The accomplice, 23-year-old Marcus Denson, earlier pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter and attempted murder.
Hall is set to be sentenced July 21.
