Six Flags Magic Mountain Announces Opening Date For Brand New Twisted Colossus Ride

VALENCIA (CBSLA.com) — A new thrill ride is just weeks away!

Six Flags Magic Mountain announced the Twisted Colossus roller coaster will open to the public on Saturday, May 23.

The ride replaces the iconic Colossus roller coaster, which opened on June 29, 1978 and was shut down August, 17 2014.

Twisted Colossus will combine the iconic wooden structure with 5,000 feet of state-of-the-art track.

The four-minute ride will be the focal point of a newly themed area called Back Alley.

Six Flags officials say it will be the longest hybrid coaster in the world.
