Off-Duty LAPD Officer Fires Shots During Burglary At His Rowland Heights Home

ROWLAND HEIGHTS (CBSLA.com) — An off-duty LAPD officer reportedly caught a burglar in the act early Wednesday at his Rowland Heights home.

The incident was reported around 12:30 a.m. in the 17800 block of Calle Aurora, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

The homeowner and the suspect got into a verbal exchange which escalated into the officer firing shots.

The suspect fled the scene.

Deputies say the officer was not injured and it is unclear if the suspect was shot.
