VALENCIA (CBSLA.com) — A large tree in a parking lot fell amid high winds in Valencia on Tuesday, damaging at least one vehicle.

The incident occurred shortly before 5:30 p.m. in the parking lot of the Granary Square shopping center off McBean Parkway.

The tree landed on at least one parked vehicle, according to police. LA County Firefighters cut branches to free a pickup at the scene.

The tree, which appeared to have two large branches of its trunk, was split in the fall. The smaller half, which remained standing after the initial fall, came down about 5:35 p.m.
