SANTA ANA (CBSLA.com) — Detectives Friday investigated the illegal activity surrounding a marijuana grow that was found inside a commercial building.
According to the Santa Ana Police Department, firefighters were sent around 7:00 a.m. to a commercial building, located in the 1100 block of East 17th Street, to check on a fire alarm.READ MORE: Lakers Give OKC Their First Win Of The Season
When crews arrived to the building, five men fled in different vehicles.

A preliminary investigation revealed a sophisticated marijuana cultivation operation that consisted of about 1,600 plants in different stages of growth. Cultivation equipment was also located within the building.

No arrests were made.
