Suge Knight's New Attorney: Video Of Fatal Hit-And-Run Shows Rapper Was Attacked

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Rap mogul Marion "Suge" Knight appeared in court Monday hours after graphic security video of the fatal hit-and-run surfaced.

Knight's new attorney claimed during the discovery hearing that the newly surfaced video will help the 49-year-old's case.

"A hundred percent it proved Suge Knight was attacked," attorney Matt Fletcher said.

TMZ posted the video overnight, which purportedly shows Knight's red truck running over two men on Jan. 29 outside a fast-food restaurant in Compton.

Knight pleaded not guilty in February to murder, attempted murder and hit-and-run charges stemming from the incident that took place near the set of Universal Pictures' "Straight Outta Compton".

Terry Carter, 55, was killed in the incident and actor Cle "Bone" Sloan, 51, suffered injuries to his foot and chest.

Prosecutors claim Knight intentionally ran over the men.

Knight has repeatedly claimed to be suffering from medical problems stemming from being shot six times in August 2014 at a nightclub.

A bail hearing was scheduled for March 20.
