The game was the regular-season finale for the Matadors while the 49ers finish at UC Riverside on Saturday. Both teams are headed for the conference tournament.
Long Beach was ahead by five at halftime and led the entire second half. The 49ers built a 14-point lead that the Matadors cut to six, 58-52, with 4:11 left.
