Police Seek Help Identifying ATM Theft Suspect Targeting LA, Thousand Oaks

VENTURA COUNTY (CBSLA.com) — Police sought the public's help Tuesday in identifying a man suspected of stealing money from ATM machines.

According to the Ventura County Sheriff's Office, around 11:15 a.m. on Jan. 4, a suspect photographed by video surveillance used several victims' debit card information to fraudulently withdraw money from ATM machines in the cities of Thousand Oaks and Los Angeles.

Detectives described the suspect as a white man between the ages of 60 and 75-years-old. He has darker, graying hair and appears to be unshaven with a thin gray beard and mustache.

The investigation is ongoing as all the victims had their ATM cards in their possession at the time of the crimes.

It remains unclear how the suspect was able to obtain their banking information.

Authorities reminded the public to frequently check credit reports and monitor bank accounts for any unauthorized activity.

Ventura County Crime Stoppers will pay up to $1,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest against the person responsibly for this crime.
