Dogs Rescued From Lucerne Valley Readied For Adoption

DEVORE (CBSLA.com) — The nearly 200 dogs rescued from a Lucerne Valley home are ready for adoption beginning Monday.

The 191 dogs, who were found abandoned and suffering from neglect, have been at the San Bernardino County Animal Shelter since Feb. 6. Their owner has still not been identified.

On Saturday, some of dogs were taken to neighboring shelters in Upland, Rancho Cucamonga and Pomona. Those facilities have spay and neuter capabilities.

The following dogs are expected to be available at these locations, officials said:

​Wednesday – Pomeranian (26), Schnauzer (12), and Terrier (10) (total of 48)

"We have had overwhelming interest in these dogs by the community," said Brian Cronin, Chief of San Bernardino County Animal Care and Control. "People have been inquiring every day wanting to know the status of this case and when the animals may be available for adoption. We are thankful to our neighboring shelters for stepping in to help these dogs be adopted by loving families."
