1 Dead, 1 Wounded In Shooting At Mar Vista Gardens Housing Project
DEL REY (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say one man was killed and another wounded in a shooting Saturday at the Mar Vista Gardens housing project.
The deceased has been identified as Calvin Johnson, 50, of Paramount, said Coroner's Investigator Betsy Magdaleno.
Los Angeles police got multiple "shots fired" calls and officers were dispatched to the 4800 block of Marionwood Drive at 11:05 p.m. Saturday. Police discovered two victims, both males, with gunshot wounds, said a watch commander
at the Los Angeles Police Department's Pacific station.
Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene and paramedics rushed the other victim to a hospital, where he was listed in stable condition, she said.
Homicide detectives had yet to establish a motive for the shooting.
No suspect information was available.
