Convicted Sex Offender Found Guilty Of Sexually Abusing Girl For Nearly 7 Years

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com)  —  A convicted sex offender was found guilty on Friday of sexually abusing a young girl from 2007 until 2013, the LA County District Attorney's Office said.

José de Jesús Santana Aguilar, 52, was previously convicted for committing a lewd act on a child in 1994.

Deputy District Attorney Jonathan Hatami said Aguilar began sexually abusing a 12-year-old Littlerock girl in 2007 and continued molesting her until she was 18.

A jury deliberated for two hours before finding Aguilar guilty of four counts of sodomy by use of force; three counts of lewd act upon a child; two counts each of continuous sexual abuse, forcible oral copulation of victim over 14 years; and one count of sexual penetration by foreign object of a victim over 14 years.

Before trial began, Aguilar additionally pleaded no contest to five counts of failing to register as a sex offender acknowledging his prior lewd act upon a child conviction.

Aguilar faces more than 132 years to life in state prison at a sentencing hearing scheduled next month in LA Superior Court.
