Report: Whitney Houston Cousin Dionne Warwick Has Shower Accident
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Legendary singer Dionne Warwick -- Whitney Houston's cousin -- reportedly fell in the shower on Jan. 24 and spent nearly two weeks in a hospital.
Both TMZ and E! Online are reporting that Warwick -- known for such hits as "Walk on By," "Don't Make Me Over," "I Say A Little Prayer", "Do You Know the Way to San Jose?" and "Then Came You" -- fell in the shower of her South Orange, N.J. home.
Houston drowned in a bathtub nearly three years ago. Houston's daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown, is clinging to life after also being found unresponsive in a bathtub last Saturday.
Warwick, 74, was taken to a hospital and had surgery on her ankle. She left the hospital Thursday and is expected to make a full recovery.
TMZ noted that Warwick's 911 call on 10:19 a.m. on Saturday the 24th. The 911 call for Bobbi Kristina, known to family as Krissy, was logged in at 10:25 a.m. a week later.
On Friday, Warwick -- a 5-time Grammy winner -- took to Twitter to thank her fans for their well wishes. "On behalf of my family, I would like to thank you for all your kind words. All in God's plan. -Dionne"
Warwick, one of the most-charted singers of all-time, also had hits with "Promises, Promises," "Always Something There to Remind Me," "I'll Never Fall In Love Again," "That's What Friends Are For" and "I'll Never Love This Way Again."
