71-Year-Old Missing Man Found Safely In Rancho Cucamonga

RANCHO CUCAMONGA (CBSLA.com) — A 71-year-old man that was reported missing in Palm Desert was safely located on Sunday.

According to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department, Milton Darrell Osteen was located around 1:50 a.m. by the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department in Rancho Cucamonga.

Around 1:45 a.m., a deputy reported they stopped a red Mitsubishi Outlander that traveled on Baseline Road near the Interstate 15, and was able to identify the driver as Osteen.

Officials explained Osteen was disoriented, but was overall in good health and uninjured. He was transported to a hospital for medical evaluation, and is expected to be reunited with his wife.

Deputies believe the cause of Osteen's disappearance is due to suffering from dementia.

It remains unclear what the times, areas traveled, and driving paths he took during his disappearance.

Osteen was reported missing by the Palm Desert Police Department around 5:45 p.m. Saturday, as he was not heard from after driving his wife to work.
