PALM DESERT (CBSLA.com)  —  Authorities believe a missing Palm Desert man may be in the San Bernardino area.

The missing 71-year-old man was last seen by his wife Saturday around 9:45 a.m. when he drove her to work.

Osteen was to pick up his wife around 4:20 p.m.

Electronic evidence obtained by deputies indicates that Osteen may currently be in the San Bernardino area.

Osteen suffers from dementia and does not have extensive experience navigating freeways or areas outside of the Coachella Valley, authorities said.

The missing man is white, about 6 feet tall and 210 pounds. He has gray hair and brown yes.

He was last seen in a plaid shirt, brown pants, brown shoes and socks.

Osteen is believed to be driving a red, 2005 Mitsubishi Outlander SUV with a California license plate #5LXJ990.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of  Osteen is asked to call 911.
