Couple Steals AT&T Truck From Worker, Crash Into Pole Downtown

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A woman Thursday suffered severe injuries in a crash after the stolen truck she was riding in crashed into a pole.

The two suspects approached an AT&T worker around 5 a.m. and asked him if he needed help, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The worker declined and the couple stole his company truck and sped off.

The pair later crashed the vehicle into a pole at 8th Street and Central Avenue, police said.

The male suspect fled the scene on foot, while the female passenger was pinned inside the truck.

She was extricated and take to a local hospital with severe injuries.
