LAGUNA NIGUEL ( — A search for possible burglary suspects at a Laguna Niguel department store came up empty Wednesday, authorities said.

Police responded to a Kohl’s store located along the 27300 block of Heather Ridge Road around 5:30 a.m. after employees reported hearing noises and believed burglars were in the back of the store, according to Orange County Sheriff’s Lt. Jeff Hallock.

Sheriff’s deputies and a SWAT team conducted a search of the store, but no suspects were located, Hallock said.

There were no reports of any items stolen from the store.
