Owner Offers Reward For Dog Nabbed During Home Burglary
CULVER CITY (CBSLA.com) — A Culver City woman is devastated after coming home to find it had been ransacked and her 10-year-old dog Savvy missing.
Melissa Henning said she's more concerned about her beloved Sheltie than the filched property.
The 13-pound brown-and-white dog suffers from severe epilepsy and needs medication twice a day to control his seizures.
The incident occurred early Friday near Port and Slausen streets. Henning said the dog was in a back bedroom with the door closed and couldn't have gotten out on his own.
The dog owner is offering a reward for Savvy's return. He's microchipped so she's hoping the burglars will have a conscience and take him to a veterinarian.
"He is a very pretty dog and people who may not know may think he's a show dog and worth some money."
Anyone with information about Savvy was asked to call Culver City police at (310) 837-1221.
Henning said: "I just won't rest until I know where my Savvy is."
