LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say a 7-year-old boy has died after being run over by an ice cream truck in South Los Angeles.

He was subsequently run over.
The accident happened on East 97th near Wall streets about 7:15 p.m. Wednesday.
“I walked outside. The child was taken to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, where he died.
“He’s well-loved around here. He play with all the kids. He play with my grandson,” neighbor Jackie Johnson said.
After the accident a group of people attacked the ice cream vendor, police said. They reportedly threw bricks at the truck and smashed the windshield. The driver sustained some bumps and bruises.MORE NEWS: 2 More Drivers Report Windows Being Shattered On SoCal Freeways
No charges or arrests have been made in the death of the child. The driver has been cooperating with police.
